How it works

Three steps, and you are never stuck with the first result.

Most portrait sellers send you one image and hope you like it. We send eight and let you decide.

STEP ONE

Send one photo

Any clear, well-lit photo where their face is visible. Phone photos are perfect. Dark coats are welcome — several of these styles are at their best on black dogs and cats.

STEP TWO

Pick a style

Twelve to choose from, oil painting through to single-line ink. Two of them come as King or Queen and Officer or Lady, so you can dress them for the occasion.

STEP THREE

Choose your favourite

Eight versions come back a few minutes later. Pick one and it is rendered at full print resolution and yours to download, as often as you like.

The part that matters

Eight versions. You pick the one that looks like them.

Every pet has an angle their owner recognises instantly. One render rarely finds it — so we run eight and hand you the choice. This is a real order.

Where this comes from

Made with AI, and we would rather say so.

Plenty of shops selling work like this do not mention it. We think you should know exactly what you are buying before you buy it, not after.

What is ours. The twelve styles, the wardrobes, the lettering, the framing rules and the review of every result. Getting a portrait to keep your pet's actual face — the amber eyes, the crooked ear — took months of work that does not show on the surface.

What is the machine's. The image itself is generated, using your photo as the subject. It is not a traditional painting or a pencil drawing made by a person, and no one at Gesso & Fur sat down with a brush. That is the honest description.

Questions

Before you send a photo.

What makes a good photo?

One clear, well-lit shot where the face is visible and the eyes are open, ideally taken at your pet's eye level. A phone photo is fine. Very dark or very blurry photos limit what any portrait style can do — the source photo drives everything.

My dog is black. Will that work?

Yes, and better than you would expect. Scratch Art, Graphite and Pop Art are all stronger on dark coats — scratchboard is white line scraped out of black, so a black dog is its native subject.

Can you add their name?

On the Memorial style, yes — the name and dates are lettered into the painting itself rather than pasted on top. Every one is checked against what you typed before it is sent, because a misspelt name on a wall is forever.

How long does it take?

Minutes, not days. The eight versions come back while you wait, and your final file downloads as soon as you have chosen.

Can I get a refund?

Because each portrait is made to order from your photo, it cannot be returned once it has been generated. If something has genuinely gone wrong, get in touch — we would much rather fix it.

Where do you ship canvases?

Within the United States. The digital portrait has no such limit — it downloads anywhere in the world, and you're welcome to print it locally.

Do you own my photo?

No. Send a photo you took or own, and it stays yours. We use it to make your portrait and nothing else.

Your pet already looks like a painting.
